Eastbourne Liberal Jewish Community (ELJC) is a constituent member of The Movement for Progressive Judaism, situated on the lovely southern coast of England. We meet once a month for services, sometimes on a Friday Evening and sometimes on a Shabbat morning, along with occasional festivals.
We are a small but convivial progressive community — without a dedicated rabbi, but with skilled and tuneful lay leaders— and we aim to have services that are meaningful and engaging, supplementing the liturgy and prayers with a goodly amount of music, reflection and sometimes group discussion.
Our members come from the town of Eastbourne and the wider East Sussex area, including Hastings/St Leonards, Bexhill, Hailsham, Seaford and surrounding areas.

REGULAR MONTHLY SERVICES IN PERSON
We congregate together in person on a monthly basis, usually rotating between an Erev Shabbat Friday Evening Service and a Saturday Morning Shacharit Service.
Visitors and potential new members are welcome to attend our services. If you have not visited us before, please phone or email before your visit to let us know that you are interested in attending. We will ask you to fill out a short from with your details and some background information, plus photo ID — this is now standard practice for community security. After approval, we will include you on our group email list so that you can receive announcements about the time and venue for our services, along with occasional other matters of interest.
