Basic Books

Anyone wanting a readable introduction to the history and practice of Liberal Judaism should try "Liberal Judaism: A Judaism for the Twenty-First Century" by Rabbi Pete Tobias.  Available from LJ for £9.99 plus P&P.

A good, simple introduction to Biblical Hebrew, suitable for self-study, is "The First Hebrew Primer" by Simon, Resnikoff and Motzkin.  There is also an answer book.  Available from Manor House Books.
